DGU: Defensive Gun Use

FMJ: Full Metal Jacket bullet – bullet is typically encased in copper

Parabellum : “Si vis pacem, para bellum” –from Latin translates to “If you want peace, prepare for war,” and therefore Parabellum means “prepare for war.”

JHP: Jacketed Hollow Point bullet – bullet center is hollow with groves to facilitate extra expansion to prevent over penetration

FPS: Feet per Second – the bullet speed

Gr: Grains – the weight of the bullet at 437.5 grains per ounce

45ACP: 45 caliber Automatic Colt Pistol – a large diameter (0.45 inches) bullet
